We often get asked, “What should we do to prepare for our first or ongoing cleanings?”
Not much! If there is clutter in the home on countertops or on the floor it is helpful to get any and all items out of the way, if possible. Our team can move faster through the home with a good “runway” but if not they are trained to move, clean under and around and then organize as best as they can.
Does Maid Brigade require your customers to sign a service contract of 30, 60 or 90 days? Longer?
No. We do have our customers sign our Service Agreement that spells out our general scope of work. The one thing we do ask is for 48 business hours notice of any schedule changes. That way we can ensure our staff remains fully employed and our other customers are not impacted from the changes.
Why does the initial clean need to be a “Deep Clean?”
Our initial “Deep” cleans for our customers are designed to set the baseline for faster and more efficient future cleans. By spending some extra time making sure surfaces throughout the home are thoroughly clean and disinfected, we can make sure that our subsequent cleans can be done faster. A good example would be: A bathroom that had not been professionally cleaned for years. The amount of time it takes to remove layers of dust, soap scum, water stains, etc. would be factors longer than a bathroom that has been cleaned 2 weeks previously. There are also specific items like blinds, baseboards, oven/fridge interiors that will be cleaned during the deep clean that will not need to be cleaned on a “regular” cleaning each time. So our deep cleans generally take more time and are more expensive than our regular cleans.
How much do house cleaning services cost?
Less than what you would think! We generally charge by our hourly rate for first time/deep cleans. The price for these cleans will depend greatly on the condition (amount of dirt, dust, grime, clutter, etc) and the size of the house. So oftentimes a small home in poor condition can be more expensive than a larger home in great condition. Once the initial deep clean is completed then we have a baseline to work from and the subsequent cleans take far less time and are far less expensive. An average size house of say, 2200 square feet would be approximately $220 a month or $185 every two weeks or $165 every week. If you have pets and multiple people living in the home, the price will tend to be a bit more expensive.
Can I have the same cleaning crew for each visit?
We cannot promise the same crew every week. We can promise however, that we will always show up and we guarantee our work.
What is your cancellation policy?
We have a two (2) business day cancelation policy. Because we schedule our cleans by geography and time, last minute cancellations throw the schedules off considerably. We charge a $150 cancelation fee for cancellations within the 2 business day period and charge the full cleaning fee for same day cancellations.
What if your cleaning crew misses something or I am not satisfied?
We offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If we ever miss something we will send a crew back to correct the mistake. We do not offer refunds.
How do I convince my spouse that we need a cleaning service?
Have them call us! We’d be happy to walk them through the services we provide and discuss how we can make your whole family’s lives easier!
Are housekeeping services taxable in California?
Housekeeping services are not taxable in California.
How do cleaning companies charge?
We charge by the time it takes to clean your home.
How long do house cleaning services take?
The time it takes to clean a home is dependent on the condition and size of the home. Our average cleaning usually takes between 1-3 hours for a team of two to complete.
What do I do with my pets during a cleaning visit?
The vast majority of our customers have pets and we are comfortable working with them in the home. However, If your pets are not comfortable with guests in your home, we ask that you either take them out of the house or if there is a crate for them to stay in while the team cleans the home.
